About this Event
Next Generation Incubation Scheme (NGIS) is STPI’s comprehensive incubation scheme which has a vision to drive the rise of India as a Software Product Nation so as to make India a global player in development, production and supply of Innovative, Efficient and Secure Software Products thus facilitating the growth across the entire spectrum of ICT sector as envisioned in the National Policy on Software Products (NPSP) – 2019.
NGIS has a vision to promote & support innovative start-ups working towards software product development (including embedded electronics) through a synergized pan-India approach. NGIS has been launched from 12 Tier-II locations across India viz. Agartala, Bhilai, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Mohali, Patna & Vijayawada for supporting startups across India.
NextGen Start-up Challenge Contest (CHUNAUTI – Challenge Hunt Under NGIS for Advanced Uninhibited Technology Intervention) is a series of online under NGIS.
CHUNAUTI 9.0, the call for application, is looking to identify and support promising startups working towards building products/solutions in Emerging Tech.
Vice Chancellor
Dr. Senthil Kumar Arumugam has been serving at VIT Vellore since 1992. He has taught a range of subjects from Thermodynamics, Thermal Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, CFD, Cryogenics to Renewable Energy at both undergraduate and post graduate levels. He received ‘Best Teacher Award’ twice at VIT. He also served at Gannon University, USA as a visiting faculty during 2014-15.
Having received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University, Dr. Senthil Kumar Arumugam did his master’s in Refrigeration and Air-conditioning at Coimbatore Institute of Technology. He obtained his doctoral degree from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and carried out his post-doctoral research in the field of Sub-millimeter gravitational force at Washington University in St. Louis, USA.
His research interests include Cryogenic Heat Pipes, CFD analysis of Steam Turbine Exhaust-hood, Transcritical CO2 Refrigeration, and Solid Hydrogen Extrusion. He has successfully handled three funded research projects and six consultancy projects. He is currently carrying out four funded projects as Co-PI. He has successfully guided seven doctoral students and two MS-by-Research students. He has published over fifty research papers in International Journals and Conferences. He has set-up two research Centres -Automotive Research Centre and Material Processing Centre at VIT with the funding from DST under FIST Scheme.
Dr. Senthil Kumar Arumugam held various positions – Division Leader of Thermal and Automotive Division, Dean of School of Mechanical and Building Sciences, and Director of CO2 Research and Green Technologies Centre at VIT,Vellore. During these stints, he exhibited his administrative acumen and leadership skills. He played a key role in getting much coveted ABET (USA) accreditation for their B.Tech Mechanical Engineering programme. He was instrumental in developing three industries collaborative academic programmes in Automotive Engineering. As the director of CO2 Research Centre, he spearheaded a team carrying out translational research to convert Carbon-di-oxide into useful products. He is a fellow of Institution of Engineers and a member in different professional bodies and boards of studies.
